Welcome to Lois Winston's Author Page  At the age of twelve, Lois Winston wanted to be an astronaut. Motion sickness (never put her in the back seat of a car, let alone on a roller coaster) killed that career before it got off the ground -- pun intended. So Lois turned to her next love, Broadway theater. There was only one problem: Broadway wasn't interested in an off-key singer with two left feet. So Lois went to art school and became a designer. Then she got the urge to write. Lois writes romantic comedies, humorous mysteries, chick lit and hen lit. She was a Malice Domestic finalist in 2004, the first runner up in Dorchester Publishing's American Title contest, and a three time RWA Golden Heart finalist. Her first published novel, TALK GERTIE TO ME (ISBN: 0505-52684-0), is one part romantic comedy, one part chick lit, and one part hen lit -- with a dash of the paranormal. To date TALK GERTIE TO ME has received nominations for a 2006 Reviewers’ Choice Award, Golden Leaf Award, and a Readers and Bookbuyers Best Award. Lois’s second book, LOVE, LIES AND A DOUBLE SHOT OF DECEPTION (ISBN: 978-0-505-52719-6), a mom-lit romantic suspense, will be a June 2007 release from Dorchester.
