Denise Tiller began her career counting dead people for a living as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. After co-authoring LIFE, HEALTH, AND ANNUITY REINSURANCE, with her husband, John, Denise re-engineered herself from a technical writing to fiction. Her first mystery novel, CALCULATED RISK, was published by Timberwolf Press. Denise also participated in WRITING EXCITING, a Writer's Digest Alternate, published by Timberwolf Press.
Denise grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and has lived in Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles/Orange County, Dallas, Westchester, County, and currently resides in Stilwell, Kansas. She is past president of the Guppies and of the Kansas City Chapter of Sisters in Crime. She belongs to the Kansas City Writers Group and has taught writing at Johnson County Community College Extension Department and at the Jewish Community Center. She serves as CEO to a multi-national consulting firm with branches in London and Washington, DC, specializing in the care of the Tiller family (one husband, 5 daughters, two grandsons, two sons-in-law) and the Tiller pets (three cats, a dog, and a ferret).
