June Shaw

June Shaw lives along a lazy bayou in south Louisiana. Her mysteries feature a spunky young widow who “thinks” she wants to avoid her hunky ex-lover so she can rediscover herself. But he opens Cajun restaurants in places she travels, and she is so bad at avoiding tempting dishes and men.

Deadly Ink Press nominated June’s debut mystery, RELATIVE DANGER, for their new David award for Best Mystery of the Year. Publishers Weekly called it Shaw's promising debut filled with humor and suspense. Romantic Times described its "refreshing twist -- a granny with attitude." Armchair Interviews said, "Shaw shows that grandmas can be sexy, too." Five Star published RELATIVE DANGER. Harlequin bought reprint rights and quickly sold out.

In early 2009 Five Star released the sequel, KILLER COUSINS, set in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. N.Y. Times best-selling author Heather Graham says, "Killer Cousins is great! In the 'a la mode` of Agatha Christie and onward!". Barbara Colley, author of the Charlotte LaRue mystery series, says, "June Shaw's KILLER COUSINS is like a bowl of spicy gumbo, delicious until the last bite and leaves you wanting more." Lorna Barrett, author of the Booktown Mysteries, says, “Sexy Cealie is back with new and old friends. It's a keeper!" Agatha finalist L.C. Hayden says, “If you haven't yet met Cealie Gunther and her wacky cousin, you're in for a real treat. The first line will hook you right in and won't let you go.”
