Lori L. Lake is the author of six novels and a book of short stories, and is the editor of two anthologies including the Lambda Literary Award Finalist The Milk of Human Kindness: Lesbian Authors Write About Mothers & Daughters (2004). She has been the recipient of nine Stonewall Society Literary Awards, and her suspense thriller, Have Gun We'll Travel, was a 2006 Golden Crown Literary Award Finalist in the Mystery/Thriller category. Her latest offering, Snow Moon Rising (2006) is a suspenseful historical novel of adventure and survival that covers seventy years in the life of an amazing Roma woman.
With her partner of 25 years, Lori lives south of the Twin Cities in Minnesota . She has an MA from Hamline University with an emphasis on literature and writing and teaches fiction-writing courses at The Loft Literary Center, the largest independent writing community in the nation. Lori also presents seminars and workshops on writing topics such as character building, plot, the writing process, mystery structure, and form and structure in the modern genre and literary novel. When she's not working at her computer, you can find her either at the local movie house or curled up in a chair reading. She is currently at work on the first two novels in a mystery series and is very much enjoying meeting other authors writing in this genre.
